TRANSFER POLICY

Transfer into SZABIST can only be accepted for candidates who have studied or are currently studying at HEC recognized universities. Transferring credits must have a minimum letter grade of B or above (or 80% marks). The request for transfers must be made at the time of admission; the maximum time limit to transfer courses is two years. Candidates will be required to clear all SZABIST admission requirements.

Bachelor Course Transfer:

A maximum of up to 72 credits may be considered for transfer into BBA / BS programs.

MBA Course Transfer:
A maximum of up to 6 credits may be considered for transfer into the fifth year MBA (36 credit-hours) program. Research project course is not transferable.A maximum of up to 36 credits may be considered for transfer into the MBA (72 credit-hours) program. Research project course is not transferable.Research project / thesis course is not transferable.

SZABIST Inter-Campus Transfer:
For transfer candidate from other SZABIST campuses, the candidate must fulfill the admission requirements of the local campus he / she wish to transfer into. All courses / grades are transferable. A transfer fee will be applicable for students transferring from any other SZABIST campus.

Certificate Course Transfer:
For transfer candidates from the SZABIST Certificate Programs all courses having a letter grade C- or above for the BBA / BS / MBA are transferable within one year.

Degree Requirement for MBA


For students with 4 years BBA degree or equivalent business degree, the duration of the MBA program is 1.5 years. 10 courses (30 credits) and research project (6 credits) are needed to graduate.
For student with a 4 years non BBA degree/non-business degree, the duration of the MBA program is 2.5 years. 22 courses (66 credits) and Business research project (6 credits) or thesis (6 credits) are needed to graduate.
Six weeks internship is needed to graduate.



Degree Requirement for MS (Computer Science)


SZABIST offers MSCS degree in three domains: Core Computer Science area and in two specialization tracks, i.e., Software Engineering (SE) and Networks and Security (N&S) in order to cater the market needs. Students have to complete 3 focused courses in any specific domain.
The program is of 2-year duration and is offered in the evening.
It requires 33 credit hours to complete.
If student opts for course work only, he/she is required to complete 11 courses of 3 credit hours each. Else, the student is required to complete 9 Courses (27 credit hours) and One Thesis (6 credit hours).
The maximum time limit to complete the MS degree is 4 years.
Students have a choice of market competitive electives to select during the program.



Degree Requirement for MS


There are two streams available for Masters of Science in Management Sciences. One Stream is by Course Work and other one is by Research work. In Course Work Stream, the student is required to complete 10 courses of 3 credit hours each. In the Research Work Stream, the student is required to complete 8 Courses and Two IRS OR one Thesis of Six Credit hours. In both the streams, 30 Credit hours are to be completed. SCHOLARSHIP & AWARDS

Scholarships offered at SZABIST Hyderabad:


SZABIST Merit Scholarships:
SZABIST Merit-Based Scholarship will be awarded from Second semester onward, and is renewable for each semester depending on student’s performance.
The total amount of scholarship per program per class/section is equal to 50% tuition fee of the next semester. For example, if a student is found eligible for scholarship in Fall Semester, he/she will be awarded 50% fee waiver for the following spring semester. Student with the highest semester GPA is eligible for 50% Merit-Based scholarship, in the subsequent semester provided the candidate has:
Student with the highest semester GPA is eligible for Merit-Based scholarship, provided the candidate has:

  • 1. Obtained a minimum semester GPA of 3.70 for all programs.
  • 2. Taken full load of courses with assigned section during regular semesters, i.e. fall and spring, both for calculation of Semester GPA and availing the scholarship.
  • 3. Students with extra and repeat courses are not eligible for the Scholarship. Students enrolled in programs with more than 10% subsidy are not eligible.
  • 4. Transfer/Open students are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  • 5. External Programs, EMBA, MS and PhD students cannot avail this scholarship.
  • 6. If there is more than one student with the same GPA in a semester, then the scholarship amount will be awarded on the basis of percentage of marks.
  • 7. Upon maintaining the same status, the scholarship may be extended for the next semester, provided the criteria are met for that semester.
  • 8. In case of other claimant (if any) with higher Semester GPA, respective scholarship will be withdrawn and the amount will be adjusted.
  • 9. The above scholarship guidelines are subject to change at any time and for any semester as approved by Academic Heads, and will be applicable to all new and continuing students.
  • 10. The scholarship program can be withdrawn at any time as approved by the Academic Council.


External Donor Agencies-Funded Scholarships:
SZABIST also awards scholarships in collaboration with external donor agencies, such as:

  • 1. United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
  • 2. Sindh Endowment Fund
  • 3. National ICT R&D Fund

ICT Scholarships (for Computer Science Students):
The Prime Minister's National ICT Scholarship program is for students of subjects from Information Technology. At SZABIST, the ICT scholarship helps support students from the Computer Science department.

Need Based Scholarship:
SZABIST Need-Based Scholarships are offered in September each year, covering two semesters. The eligibility is based on:

  • 1. Need and merit as determined by SZABIST, and
  • 2. Assessment through a panel interview.
For renewal of scholarship in second semester, a minimum CGPA of 2.5 is required.
